Sea Salt Caramel Latte Recipe


The Story

This recipe is one of our absolute favorites! When Dr. Holly was expecting, I would make this for her ALL THE TIME! It has so many good fats in it, and it only takes about 5 minutes to make. I tend to like sweet and salty foods, and it is so hard to find snack foods as well as beverages that meet my cravings. So! I figured I would make my own. I started thinking about how I just love sea salt (and it is so healthy and good for you! Also, Dr. Holly has a video on why it is good for you! 10 of her fav. superfoods video. Here it is! :))

So I decided to mix a couple of ingredients together that sounded like they would taste caramel-like.....and honestly, I didn't have high hopes for this drink because I figured that the ingredients are way to simple. When we tried this drink for the first time, I almost cried....Not really. I'm being a bit dramatic. BUT! It was so true to the real deal that honestly, I dethroned the "real deal." So here is my recipe for the most amazing and HEALTHY Sea Salt Caramel Latte:

 

RECIPE:

Yields about 1-2 servings depending if your in a sharing mood

1 C Organic Almond Milk (make sure it does NOT contain Carrageenan)

1/8 tsp Pink Sea Salt

1/2 tsp Organic Vanilla Extract

3 tbsp Grass Fed Butter

1 tbsp Organic Coconut Oil

2 tbsp Organic Grade B Maple Syrup

DIRECTIONS:

Directions are so easy.....Literally put all ingredients together in sauce pan until all butter and oil is melted. Whisk ingredients together until desired temperature. I would suggest to do this on medium low heat. You don't want to heat it too long because you will denature the grass fed butter. Serve and ENJOY!
